How we work

  • Phase 1: Road works and excavation
This is the stage where we dig into the road or pavement so we can access the underground services and install the new cable route. In some cases, once the ground is opened, other utility companies may also need to carry out repairs or upgrades nearby. Where possible, we coordinate this work at the same time so the road does not need to be dug up repeatedly, helping to reduce disruption for residents, businesses and people travelling through the area.
  • Phase 2: Installing and connecting the cables
Once the route is prepared, we create small access points called joint bays. These are used to connect, position and secure the cables as they are pulled through the underground route. This process can sometimes require work at several points along the road, but it helps make sure the cable is installed safely and reduces the risk of damage or faults in future.
